Academic Scholarships
for 12th graders - class of 2021
To encourage and motivate high school students of Vietnamese descent to strive for higher education, every year Au Co Vietnamese Cultural Center and the Vietnamese Academic Award Foundation provide scholarships to college-bound high school graduates who demonstrate academic excellence. Thanks to scholarship fundraising efforts and the support of sponsors, Au Co Center and the Vietnamese Academic Award Foundation are proud to announce the Academic Scholarships for 12th graders from the class of 2021.
The most outstanding applicant will be awarded $1,500, and the runners-up will be awarded $1,000 each. A minimum of three scholarships will be awarded. Depending on available funds, the number of scholarships may increase.
Minimum qualifications
• Students of Vietnamese descent/heritage who are currently in the 12th grade and graduating in 2021, who will begin their first year of college in the fall of 2021.
• Current students of a public or private school within the area codes of (415), (628) or (650). Students of Au Co Center are exempt from the area code requirement.
• Students who have demonstrated academic excellence with a minimum 3.5 GPA will qualify for the Outstanding Academic Achievement Scholarship. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required to qualify for the financial hardship scholarship.
• Students applying for the financial hardship scholarship will need to submit their parents’ tax returns because financial need will be taken into consideration.
To be considered, students who meet the minimum qualifications above must complete and submit all information and documents as listed in the application. The application due date is May 7th, 2021 at 11:59 PM if submitted online or postmarked by May 7th if sent by postal mail. Applicants will be informed of the results by May 22nd, and scholarships will be mailed out soon after.

Học Bổng Cho Học Sinh Lớp 12
Niên Khóa 2020-2021
Để khuyến khích và động viên các học sinh trung học gốc Việt tiếp tục trên con đường học vấn, hằng năm, Trung tâm Văn Hóa Âu Cơ và Quỹ Phát Thưởng cố gắng trao tặng học bổng cho những học sinh tốt nghiệp trung học với thành tích xuất sắc và sẽ tiếp tục bậc đại học. Xuyên qua nỗ lực gây quỹ và nhờ sự ủng hộ của các nhà bảo trợ, Trung tâm Âu Cơ và Quỹ Phát Thưởng hân hạnh thông báo về các giải học bổng dành cho học sinh lớp 12 niên khóa 2020-2021.
Giải thưởng cao nhất là một học bổng trị giá $1,500, các giải còn lại trị giá mỗi giải $1,000. Ban Tổ Chức sẽ cấp ít nhất 3 học bổng. Số lượng học có thể tăng tùy theo ngân quỹ.
Điều kiện tham dự
• Học sinh Việt Nam hay gốc Việt đang học lớp 12 niên khóa 2020-21 và sẽ theo học đại học trong năm 2021-22.
• Đang học tại một trường công hay trường tư trong vùng có mã số điện thoại (415), (628) hoặc (650). Riêng học sinh của Âu Cơ được tham gia mặc dù ở ngoài vùng có mã số nói trên.
• Thành tích học tập đạt điểm trung bình (GPA) từ 3.5 trở lên dành cho giải học bổng Xuất Sắc và sẽ không xét tới tình trạng tài chánh của gia đình.
• Thành tích học tập đạt điểm trung bình (GPA) từ 3.0 trở lên cho học bổng dành riêng học sinh có hoàn cảnh khó khăn. Cần nộp bản khai thuế của phụ huynh. Tình trạng tài chánh gia đình học sinh sẽ được tính trong việc cứu xét học bổng cho gia đình có thu nhập thấp.
Để được xét duyệt, những học sinh hội đủ điều kiện tối thiểu nói trên phải điền đơn và nộp đầy đủ những điều đòi hỏi trong đơn. Hạn chót là ngày 7 tháng 5, 2021 lúc 11:59 khuya, bằng email hoặc có đóng dấu bưu điện vào ngày 7 tháng 5, 2021. Kết quả sẽ được thông báo sau ngày 22 tháng 5 và học bổng sẽ được gởi bằng đường bưu điện tới các em học sinh được giải.
Đơn xin học bổng có thể nhận bằng cách: (1) tải xuống từ Dropbox hay Google Doc; hoặc (2) gởi e-mail đến contact@aucocenter.org để yêu cầu.
