This public cultural event will feature an exhibition and program to mark the 42nd anniversary of the Vietnamese diaspora and refugee resettlement.
This exhibition shares the refugee experience and celebrates the achievements of the Vietnamese people worldwide through photography, first-person narratives, and historical artifacts. It includes stories of loss, of navigating cultural identities between different generations, and of the process of rebuilding a new life in a foreign environment. Speakers feature community scholars, social service workers, guest speakers from community partners, and literary artists. There will also be a presentation of the cultural ceremony “Lễ Giỗ Tổ Hùng Vương” honoring the Hùng Kings, founding fathers of Vietnam, as well as a cultural music performance by the Su Viet Zithers and a traditional folklore performance by San Francisco Vietnamese “Cải Lương” Folklore Group.
